Handover lunch 2016
A wonderful and leisurely lunch was enjoyed at the Fox & Goose in Brent Knoll by all who attended to celebrate the past year under the presidency of Colin Rufus and his handover for the 2016/2017 year to Roger Tolley our new president for the coming year. The lunch was begun by Isobel offering us some wonderful words that superbly covered the ethos of Lions Clubs International, then we begun a relaxed lunch accompanied by the friendly banter that always accompanies Burnham on Sea Lions meetings whether formal or informal.
Following lunch Colin gave a speech thanking everyone for their support during his term as president and welcoming Roger to the role.
Roger then gave his acceptance speech and thanked Colin for all the hard work he had done regaling him with his many accomplishments throughout the year and thanking his wife Eileen for all she has done to support him and presenting her with a bouquet of flowers. He also thanked Claire Oliver for her fantastic support as club secretary for the past year, saying how grateful the club is to have had her support for successive years and this coming year also presenting Claire with a bouquet.
All in all a wonderful afternoon was had by all who attended.
